The High Price of Holding a Grudge

Mark 11:24, I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. 25 But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”

Having faith in God is a great power as well as a great privilege. Faith in God allows us to participate in the great deeds that God wants to work in us and among us.

However, all of this power, privilege, and great deeds will be hindered by a spirit of unforgiveness and offense. If you want your faith to work, be sure to clear your heart of grudges. God holds us accountable to be sincere and honest in His presence. God hears our “murmuring” and sees our insincerity.

I remember the words of a friend after listening to my complaints about people and circumstances. He said, “Bryan, Get your heart right with God!”

Do you have friends who can speak to you in that manner or has no one been given that permission?

A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment. (Proverbs 18:1)
