Psalms 54:4, Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life.
These words of David are taken from a time when he was in peril. David had been betrayed by the Ziphites (1 Samuel 23:19), who informed King Saul of his hiding place.
When times are difficult, we appreciate God all the more. We also appreciate the people who support us. There are some people around us who literally "uphold my life."
God did not design us to walk alone, but within community and family.
