How Good Change Happens in Your Life
James 1:17, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
Good change, even in the midst of bad circumstances, comes from paying attention to the "good" and "perfect" gifts that come from "above," from God. The term "Father of lights" helps you think about God as the most stable and positive relationship in your life. We live in a world full of shifting standards and profound uncertainly. However, we also live through the power of God in Whom there is no "variation" or "shadow of turning." The New Living Translation reads, "...He never changes or casts a shifting shadow."
Good change comes when you pay attention to what God is doing inside of you more than what is happening around you.
Philemon 1:6, That the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
