  • Don't be like chaff (the outer shell or husks of wheat)
  • Chaff has no root and no fixed place.
  • Chaff is at the mercy of the elements. 
  • Chaff-like-people are attached to nothing; they lack stability and cannot endure. 
  • Chaff-like-people appear to be free, but in reality, are only slaves to their environment. 
  • People who are attached to God grow and produce fruit.
  • Chaff-like-people have a freedom not worth possessing

Psalm 1:4 But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. 5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment.  Sinners will have no place among the godly. 6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction. (NLT)
