DAY 14
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
This is an amazing Scripture and truth to live by! One of my spiritual sons had a heart transplant. This is obviously a major medical procedure with many opportunities for complications. My wife and I visited him soon after his transplant at the hospital. Romans 8:11 was one of the Scriptures I read to him and explained it as follows: As believers, today and every day, we have the indwelling Holy Spirit. The amazing thing is that we have exactly the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead living inside us! Paul said that if we have the same spirit inside us that raised Jesus from the dead, that same Holy Spirit will give life to our physical bodies.
One day the brother experienced a significant complication related to the transplant. He recalled Romans 8:11 and begin to quote it and worship God in the reality of it. He reported to me that the Holy Spirit’s power, along with proper medical intervention, saved his life that day. He felt that the medical intervention alone would not have saved him. This was a powerful example of the Holy Spirit and God’s word at work inside of him. These are not just concepts, this is God’s power at work in our lives!
