What Is The Will of God?

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to our October 21 day devotional, “Prosperity of Spirit, Soul, and Body!”

Looking forward to contributing to your morning encounter with the Lord. These lessons will be brief and encouraging so that you can continue with your personal devotional activity.

In addition to the lessons I will be sharing, we will also have lessons offered by New Covenant Church ministers and leaders, including my wife, Patricia Hudson, Min. Bertha Fields, Min. Corey Jones, Stacy Williams, Min. Shawn Carter and others.

The theme Scripture text is 3 John 2, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers.”

We will focus on the spiritual dimensions of health and prosperity. We are not endeavoring to give medical advice or discourage people from seeking medical help. Because we are individuals comprised of a spirit, soul, and body, spiritual health and spiritual disciplines have positive impacts on health for the total person.

Lessons will be available every day by 5:30am EST at www.BryanHudson.com and www.NewCovenant.org.

Be blessed and encouraged over the next 21 days!

DAY #1  / October 8, 2023
What Is The Will of God?

One of the most important foundations in life is to know the will of God.

In his brief third letter, the Apostle John made a simple statement that reveals the will of God, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers.”

This could be interpreted as only a statement of good wishes at the beginning of his letter, but it is still a statement of truth from the heart of God.

Poverty, sickness, and distress of soul are facts of life in this world. However, the purpose of the coming of Christ was to save humanity, not only from an eternity without God, but to experience help and blessing in this present world. The works of Jesus give evidence to God’s will to provide, heal, and comfort. Jesus made this clear when He said:

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10, New Living Translation)

God is never the “thief,” He is our deliverer and Helper!

Regardless of your circumstances, ALWAYS BELIEVE it is God’s larger purpose to bring provision, healing, and comfort to yourself and others.

REFLECTION QUESTION:
Why is it God’s will for you be healthy in your spirit, soul, and body?
