In this letter, The Apostle John is not writing specifically about the human soul.
The word soul can be understood as the expression of a quality of life.
NLT uses the phrase, “Strong in spirit.”
NIV, “Even as your soul is getting along well.”

To grant a prosperous and expeditious journey, to lead by a direct and easier way
To grant a successful issue, to cause to prosper
