Promises Made & Kept | A Quick Word of Encouragement for You
#40dayemphasis #devotionalreading
"Make vows to the Lord your God, and pay them; Let all who are around Him bring presents to Him who ought to be feared." (Psalms 76:11)
This Psalm is attributed to Asaph who was a Levite and a worship leader. He also wrote Psalms 50, 73–83.
A vow is a voluntary promise or commitment made to God. Vows are not required, but once made, a commitment should be taken seriously and not violated. We're living in a world where people not only fail to make serious commitments, but then easily break the vows made. We serve a God who always keeps His promises. We as people come short, but failing to keep a commitment should usually only come from circumstances beyond our control.
"Bring presents to Him" reflects our worship, giving, faithfulness, reverence, and recognition of God's sovereignty.
